What is the Express Entry Points?

Express Entry is a selection system introduced in January 2015, and it has helped thousands of people migrate to Canada within months. The IRCC (Immigrants and Refugees Citizenship Canada) claims that with the help of Express Entry, a candidate can migrate to Canada within 6 to 12 months. The federal economic subcategories under the Express Entry program are listed below-

  •  Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP)
  •  Federal Skilled Traders Program (FSTD)
  •  Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The candidates who are eligible under one of these categories can apply and register themselves, after which their points will be calculated on the parameters listed below, and their entries will be admitted in the Express Entry Pool for further processing. The Points calculation categories are:

Age – Anybody is free to apply for the PR status in Canada, and there is no age limit for the PR status. Maximum points are given to applicants in the age group 18 to 35 years.

Language Proficiency – Knowledge of the English language is tested through examinations like IELTS and CLB. If someone knows the French Language, then it is an added advantage.

Education – Calculated under the Education Credential Assessment (ECA), the educational degree should be at par with the Canadian education board, and it should be validated through legalized portals like WES.

Work Experience – The applicants need to be skilled, and have good work experience makes one eligible for good score points. Further, job skills and good experience in hand can help the candidate seek proper employment in Canada.

Adaptability – Having a sibling/spouse already settled in Canada can help one to garner good points.
